Rebecca Ladner, aka the Queen of Cleanlinessuses $12 Vanish Napisan Gold Pro Stain Removal Powder to clean grout on tile floors.
The told the Victorian mother of five children Better houses and gardens that she has tried many other cleaning methods with little success.
“I made all the baking soda/vinegar… and it’s way too time consuming with very little result,” she said.
“I also used durable grout cleaner. Some people swear by it [but] I’m not a fan and the smell is awful,” she added. “Plus Long-Lasting Grout Cleaner is $10 a bottle. It ends up costing quite a lot.”
Rebekah tried the Napisan hack on a client and got amazing results.
She puts two scoops of Vanish Napisan Gold Pro Stain Removal Powder in a bucket of water and spreads it over the tiles before scrubbing.
“Bunnings sell two grout brooms, one is $10 and the other is in the $20 range. Just be careful as floors are obviously extremely slippery when mopping,” she said.
Finally, Rebekka rinses the tiles and wipes again with hot water and denatured alcohol.
The dirty “before” and sparkling clean “after” photos speak for themselves.
The hack caused a stir on the Mums who Cook, Clean and Organize Facebook group.
“Wow, I have to try that!” said a woman.
“Omg I’ll try this when the kids aren’t home. I have tiles in my house,” commented another.
